Joanna Baird was born and raised near Sacramento, California, where she was first introduced to music. She grew up playing the piano from the age of six and has centered her life around music ever since. Trained in a variety of styles, her first love was classical music. Throughout her pre-college studies, she also gained a vast knowledge of church music and has played professionally in churches since the age of eighteen. She graduated from Azusa Pacific University with a Bachelor of Music degree in piano performance, where she had the privilege to study under Dr. Joel Clifft and Dr. Andrew Park, who were both deeply instrumental to her growth as a pianist.

Joanna has performed in prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall in New York City and Haydn Hall in Eisenstadt, Austria. In 2026 she graduated with a Master of Fine Arts degree in collaborative piano at the University of California, Irvine, where she studied for two years under the tutelage of Nina Scolnik. She has a passion for teaching, which she continues to combine with her collaborative work.

Joanna is a member of the National Guild of Piano Teachers and the Music Teachers' Association of California, Irvine Branch.
